Equality And Diversity
West Mercia Police is committed to providing services that respond to the needs of different communities, protecting everyone (and particularly the most vulnerable and deprived) from harm and threat.
We recognise that equality, diversity and human rights are central to providing excellent public services and we have made significant progress in delivering real improvements.
In December 2009, the Police Service of England and Wales launched its single Equality, Diversity and Human Rights Strategy. This strategy is focused upon results and sets out how the police service can improve and build equality and diversity into everything that we do.
We also have a single assessment framework in the Equality Standard. The Standard is a continuous improvement tool and is designed to support the police service in, assessing activity, identifying gaps in performance, benchmarking progress and sharing best practice and improve performance by delivering positive equality outcomes.
You can let us know your thoughts on how we meet the needs of our communities by email our Diversity Team at [email protected]. We welcome all feedback and will be pleased to receive your email.
