Keeping everyone safe on the roads in our region is a key priority for West Mercia Police and we are committed to reducing the numbers of people killed or injured. That's why we've joined forces with local councils, the fire and ambulance services and the courts to form the Safer Roads Partnership in West Mercia.
Our joint aim is reducing casualties by changing driver behaviour and educating the public about the dangers and consequences of a variety of road offences. We achieve this through an active and widespread education, enforcement and publicity programme, known as Go Safe.
The Go Safe campaign focuses on the five key areas of casualty reduction:
- Motorcycle safety
- Cycle safety
- Pedestrian safety
- Drink and drug driving
- Young drivers
