Tackling Terrorism - Advice for Businesses

While there is no specific threat from terrorism to businesses within the West Mercia Police area, the impact of any such action could be catastrophic. After all, a terrorist attack is only one disaster that could befall your business. Fire, flood and crime are also unlikely events but we still seek to have plans in place to deal with them. Measures put in place to combat such events can often reduce the vulnerability of your business and combating terrorism is no exception.

As part of the national Counter Terrorism Strategy (CONTEST), West Mercia Police employs a number of dedicated Counter Terrorism Security Advisors who work locally to national taskings from the National Counter Terrorism Security Office (http://www.nactso.gov.uk). Their primary role is to provide protective security advice to vulnerable businesses and locations.
