Tackling Terrorism - Project Argus

Project Argus is a National Counter Terrorism Security Office initiative, exploring ways to aid you in preventing, handling and recovering from a terrorist attack or critical incident.

Proefect Argus is a free event takes you through a terrorist attack using a multi-media simulation. A series of questions and challenges are put to you, both individually and as a group. You will work in small syndicate groups with other local business representatives and develop your responses to the attack. The whole event including a coffee break will last approximately three hours.

The event explores your options; what is likely to happen in the event of such a disaster; and what your priorities should be. Project Argus highlights the importance of being prepared and having the necessary plans in place to help.

Argus Retail - Focussed on the issues affecting the retail environment.

Argus Night Time Economy - specially tailored for those businesses that work in the night time economy, such as bars, pubs, restaurants and nightclubs.

Argus Education - delivery of awareness event to Higher Education establishments and Universities

Argus Professional - for built environment professionals - architects, planners and developers. Engaging local authorities, local partners and in particular businesses to encourage them to implement counter-terrorist security advice, with a particular focus on designing in counter terrorism protective security measures to new buildings to reduce the vulnerability to a terrorist attack in crowded places.  Arugs Professional can form part of Continual Professional Development (CPD).

Argus Health - Specifically designed for the National Health Service dealing with the issues of securing this environment and the impact of an attack.

Argus Hotels - This delivers a bespoke awareness event created specifically for the hotel industry and the effects both during and after a terrorist attack or major disaster.

ARGUS Major Events - these are an important part of the culture in the United Kingdom.  Terrorist  attacks across the world show how vulnerable high profile venues and events can be.  Argus Major Events seeks to highlight aspects of planning, preparation and awareness which can be used to reduce the risk of events.
