Our Exploitation and Vulnerability Training workshops are available to anyone living or working in Herefordshire, Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin or Worcestershire.
Available both online via Teams and in-person delivery, the workshops aim to cover the various aspects of vulnerability and the signs and symptoms of exploitation.
Parent\guardian sessions
The exploitation and online safety session aims to raise awareness and provide valuable insights on how to protect vulnerable children. The session will cover:
- Spotting the signs that your child might be being exploited
- How to keep your child safe online
- How online influencers might be shaping the views of your child
- Practical tips for you to help to keep your child safe online
- Why some children are more at risk of exploitation than others
Professional\people who work with children sessions
The exploitation and vulnerability session aims to raise awareness and provide valuable insights on how to protect vulnerable children. The session will cover:
- Why some children are more at risk of exploitation than others
- Spotting the signs that a child might be being exploited
- What exploitation is (child sexual exploitation and child criminal exploitation) including consent
- County lines and cuckooing
- What is modern day slavery
- The impact of using victim blaming language
Tackling Child Exploitation in Hospitality and other service sectors
The Child Exploitation training session aims to raise awareness and provide valuable insights on how to protect vulnerable children. The webinar is suitable for anyone working in the hospitality and service sector, including hotels, taxi services, retailers and the nighttime economy.
The session will cover:
- What is Child Exploitation and what it may look like
- What County Lines looks like across West Mercia
- Responding to Child Exploitation - MAKESAFE
Knife Crime Awareness and Prevention for Professionals
The knife crime awareness and prevention training session gives professionals a grounded understanding of:
- What knife crime is, why it happens, and how to respond effectively in their roles.
- Explore the social factors that contribute to knife‑related behaviour, the warning signs to look out for, and practical strategies for early intervention and prevention.
Participants will leave with greater confidence, better awareness, and actionable tools to help keep individuals and communities safer.
Com Groups: Awareness and prevention training for professionals
Described as the most urgent threat to our children today Community or Com groups are online groups involved in child sexual abuse, cybercrime and offline violence. This session aims to:
- Discover who and what is the com
- Where is it
- What are the signs and symptoms someone is involved in the com
- What do I do about it
This session will raise awareness and provide valuable insights on how to protect vulnerable children online.

- Exploitation and modern day slavery - adult safeguarding - 60mins
- Knife Crime Awareness and Prevention - Professional - 1 hour and 15 minutes
- Com Groups: Awareness and prevention training for professionals - 1 hour
