The description of `middle office` and `back office` roles is too vague for our Personnel Department to ascertain whether each individual role undertaken within force should be included in a response to your request . However, in order to assist, we can provide the number of full-time equivalent `non-operational`, `operational support` and `organisational Support` Police officers as defined by HMIC, as follows:
- May 1st 2010 - 160.6
- May 1st 2011 - 127.1
2. The number of full-time equivalent police officers deployed in the custody cells in a) May 2010 and b) November 2011
