FOI 3555 Cycle To Work Scheme

I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 10 February 2012 . Please find below the response to your request:

 

1) Does your organisation currently offer employees entry to the national 'Cycle to Work Scheme' ?

West Mercia Police (WMP) does not currently run a cycle to work scheme, Though the scheme has been run on 4 occasions previously.

 

2) If the answer to the above question is 'No' please can you provide the brief rationale for adopting this position

WMP are not currently running or planning any cycle to work scheme, and this is due to changes in the tax rules by HMRC causing significant additional work to run and maintain a scheme, also budget cuts leading to a lack of resources to run the schemes.
