Making The Difference/Strategic Alliance Information
This page outlines how West Mercia Police will manage the publication of information relating to the force's Making The Difference change management programme and the Strategic Alliance with Warwickshire Police.
The programme will generate savings in the region of £30 million over a period of four years (2011 - 2015) while ensuring West Mercia has the capacity and resilience to deliver an efficient and effective policing service.
The publication scheme outlined below aims to strike a balance between meeting the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act while maintaining the need to manage information that may be confidential, operationally or financially sensitive or affect individuals who work for the force.
West Mercia intends to publish the following information relating to the Making the Difference/Strategic Alliance programme on the force's website on a regular basis over the next four years:
General Communication
| Media releases | Published once approved for release in the News section of the force's website |
| External briefing documents | Published within a month of publication |
| Police Authority updates | Published as part of the minutes of the Police Authority meetings (open sessions) within a month of a meeting being held |
| Organisational structures | A summary of any substantial change in organisational structure will be published within a month of approval by West Mercia Police Authority |
| Minutes of meetings | Matters relating to the programme will be published in the minutes of Chief Officers Strategy Days and Senior Leaders Forums |
| Analysis of current and future budgets | Published in February each year on the West Mercia Police Authority website once the budget is set |
| Workforce changes/numbers | Police Authority decisions impacting upon numbers of officers and staff within West Mercia Police within a month of the relevant meeting at which the decision was made. |
| Significant changes to deliver policing services | Published as part of Police Authority minutes within a month of the meeting at which the decision was made. Also communicated by media release which will be published in the News section of the force's website |
| Programme reports | Formal reports summarising the key decisions made, changes in workforce numbers, costings and the factors influencing key decision will be published - Interim Report 2013; Final Report 2015 |
| Collaboration Agreement | A summary and full version of the Collaboration Agreement between the Warwickshire and West Mercia forces and Warwickshire and West Mercia police authorities. |
