West Mercia is a safe place to live and crime figures remain low. However, we can all play a part in reducing crime even further.
Our Get Involved campaign helps to highlight the wide range of volunteering opportunities available within West Mercia for people who want to make their community a safer and better place.
These include taking up a community voluntary role in Shropshire, joining a cadet scheme (16-18 year olds) or getting involved in a Neighbourhood Watch scheme.
You can even sign up to join the Special Constabulary to help police the streets in your local community. Specials are recruited from across West Mercia.
In return for your help as a volunteer, you can expect to receive a great deal of support from West Mercia Police, as well as the opportunity to learn new skills and make new friends.
You can ‘get involved’ in other ways too without having to take up a voluntary role, for example, by using the PACT process to tell us about local issues and concerns or by following simple crime prevention advice to reduce your risk of becoming a victim.
