Victim of Crime Survey
Providing a high standard of service and support to victims of crime is a priority for West Mercia Police.
We regularly survey victims of:
- Domestic burglary
- Vehicle crime
- Violent crime
- Racist incidents
- Road traffic collisions
From April 2006 West Mercia has also been surveying a sample of individuals who have reported an incident of anti-social behaviour to the police.
Approximately 35,000 surveys are sent out each year and respondents are asked a number of mandatory questions around the following issues:
- Satisfaction with the ease of contacting us
- Satisfaction with the actions taken by the police
- Satisfaction with how well they were kept informed of progress
- Satisfaction with the way they were treated
- Satisfaction with the overall service provided
Our performance in relation to these areas is reported to the Home Office every quarter. This information is also used to compare levels of satisfaction by ethnicity:
- Satisfaction of victims of racist incidents with the service provided
- Satisfaction of white respondents with the service provided
- Satisfaction of visible ethnic minority respondents with the service provided.
