Local priorities are identified through a process called PACT (Partners and Communities Together),
which enables you to tell us about the issues that are causing concern in your neighbourhood.
Once a priority is identified, your local policing team will work with partner organisations and the community to find the best solution.

- Actions:Vehicles constantly driving in excess of the s[peed limit of 30MPH in the village of Lyonshall Action For: WEST MERCIA POLICE
Activity Log:12:20-13:50. Speed enforcement checks carried out in the village. 1 motorist reported to court for speeding at 43MPH in the 30MPH limit.

Activity Log:Speeding traffic contravening the 30MPH Speed limit in the village of Eardisland. It was brought to the Local policing teams attention from Eardisland Neighbourhood watch meeting, that drivers still choose to ignore the speed limit in place. The main problem being between 6 and 8am and 5pm till 7pm. Police to carry out speed enforcement in Eardisland. Several periods of speed checking and enforcement have been undertaken by various West Mercia Police Teams.

- Actions:KIngton Area Local Policing along with roads policing team to conduct regular speed enforcement checks within the village. Action For: WEST MERCIA POLICE
Activity Log:At a recent Parish Coucil meeting in Pembridge, it was brought to our attention that motorists are speeding withing the designated 30MPH speed limit. Speed enforecement checks carried out between 15:00 and 15:30hrs. No drivers were speeding and no drivers advised.

- Actions:PC ELLIS to oversee enforcement action and update outward facing Priority regularly. Action For: WEST MERCIA POLICE
UPDATE 23/05/2010. On Saturday 22nd May 2010 between 1030 and 1130 speed checks were carried out within the 30mph section of the A480 at Lyonshall. Three endorsable fixed penalty tickets were issued (3 points and 60 pound fine) for speeds up to 52mph. UPDATE 28/05/2010. On Thursday 27th May 2010 between 0830 and 0940 speed checks were carried out within the 30mph section of the A480 at Lyonshall. One endorsable fixed penalty tickets was issued and one Caution. UPDATE 23/06/2010. On Sunday 6th June 2010 speed checks were again carried out within the 30mph section of the A480 at Lyonshall. Three endorsable fixed penalty tickets were issued. UPDATE 29/06/2010. On Friday 25th June 2010 two endorsable fixed penalty tickets were issued during speed checking on the A480 at Lyonshall between 1230 and 1300. UPDATE 16/07/2010. On Sunday 11th July 2010 three endorsable fixed penalty tickets were issued during speed checking on the A480 at Lyonshall between 1510 and 1610 hours. In addition one driver was found to be speeding and using his vehicle without insurance. He has been reported for summons and will appear at court for both offences in due course. Using powers granted to police under Section 165A of the Road Traffic Act 1988 the vehicle was seized on the spot. UPDATE 21/07/2010. On Saturday 17th July 2010 speed checking was carried out on the A480 at Lyonshall between the hours of 1700 and 1730. No vehicles were found to be exceeding the speed limit during this period. Activity Log:This is an ongoing issue which has previously been recognised. The route is already part of planned speed enforcement for Hereford and West Mercia HQ based specialist traffic officers, along with the adjacent A44. A meeting is being set up to see what additional resources the Safer Roads Partnership can provide to help address the issue. In addition the Kington Local Policing Team will commence speed checks and issue fixed penalty tickets to motorists exceeding the 30 MPH limit from 21/05/2010. UPDATE 23/05/2010. UPDATE 22/10/2010 The activity around this priority has been reviewed in preparation for the public PACT meeting on 03/11/2010 and is likely to be continue in the light of recent complaints and offending noted during monitoring sessions.
