Local priorities are identified through a process called PACT (Partners and Communities Together), which enables you to tell us about the issues that are causing concern in your neighbourhood. Once a priority is identified, your local policing team will work with partner organisations and the community to find the best solution.
We are currently working on:
- Priority: EVA OSWESTRY TOWN WEST . YOUTH RELATED - YOUTHS INAPPROPRIATE GATHERING - There has been a number of calls regarding groups of youths, not always from the Castlefields area of Oswestry, gathering in communal areas, causing distress and tension in the community. (28/02/2013)
- Actions:Police patrols to deter offenders and deal with any innapropriate behaviour. Action For: WEST MERCIA POLICE
Weekly patrols with the council housing officer to establish any complaints or issues with residents. Action For: SHROPSHIRE COUNCIL
Activity Log:This priority has continued from the previous one. There has been a decrease in calls about anti-social behaviour in the area, however as the lighter nights arrive residents are concerned that youths will begin hanging around in the area causing a nuisance again. UPDATE - 09/03/2013 - 19:40 hrs Patrol of the Castlefields area, spoke with a number of youths in the area, advised them regarding playing football in the garage area and the group moved on to a more suitable location. UPDATE - 25/03/2013 - Various times - Patrols in Castlefields area during the snow as properties have been targeted during previous periods of snowy weather. No signs of any groups of youths congregating in the area. UPDATE - 28/03/2013 - 10:00 hrs - Joint estate walkabout with Council, no issues noted or raised by residents. UPDATE - 16/04/2013- 14:30 hrs - Joint housing visit with council in regards to ASB in Castlefields area, residents spoken with and advised. UPDATE - 26/04/2013 - 12:45 hrs - Estate walkabout with Council, one issue raised. Neighbours concerned that a group of youths are beginning to gather in one of the shed areas in Castlefields, specifically around a shed belonging to an unoccupied property. UPDATE - 26/04/2013 - 15:00 hrs - Spoke to two youths that have been allegedly gathering around the sheds and advised them not to gather there. Council have also informed us that the area is to locked shortly and residents given a key to access this area and that a new tenant is due to move into the property owning the shed this weekend, so hopefully this will deter the group from gathering there, along with targeted patrols. UPDATE - 02/05/2013 - 14:30 hrs - Joint area patrol with council, one complaint of youths on the landings causing noise and disturbance to residents. Will target those areas and move on any groups causing issues. UPDATE - 07/05/2013 - Joint visit with council to residents regarding Anti-social behaviour, tenants advised about their behaviour and the implications should this persist. UPDATE - 10/05/2013 - Castlefields foot patrol, group of youths playing football and climbing on sheds to retrieve ball, advised and moved on to more suitable location. UPDATE - 13/05/2013 - Joint visit with Council, one complaint of dog fouling in the Castlefields area, joint patrol with Council to try catch offender to be arranged.
