Introduction From the Divisional Commander
In South Worcestershire we are increasingly tailoring our policing services to the individual needs of our residents to ensure we never have a ‘one fits all' approach to law and order. Placing our communities at the heart of everything we undertake delivers a high quality, personalised service which helps to achieve the confidence and support of our local residents.
This approach continues to make a real difference and total recorded crime has fallen again in the last 12 months. This brings crime in South Worcestershire down to its lowest level in five years.
We are committed to delivering the promises made in our policing pledge . An important component of this is the provision of local policing and crime information on the force's website. Crime statistics are available for each local policing area and are updated monthly.
While our 32 local policing teams - including the now ubiquitous community support officers - respond to the concerns of Malvern Hills, Worcester City and Wychavon residents, other specialist officers are successfully addressing such key areas as domestic burglary, serious violent crime and road casualty reduction.
Focused operations consistently make inroads into domestic burglary and drugs misuse, while other covert operations, extensive use of the SmartWater property marking technology and high profile foot patrols contribute to preventing and solving crimes and tackling anti-social behaviour.
Our ‘zero tolerance' approach to under-age drinkers is consistently enforced in partnership with parents, licensed premises and the community. Close engagement with our partners and communities will continue into the future to ensure South Worcestershire remains a safe place in which to live, work and visit.
