Love Your Community

West Mercia Police is encouraging local residents to get involved and help make their communities even better.

West Mercia is a safe place to live, but you can help make it even safer by following some simple crime prevention steps to protect your home, vehicle and even your neighbours. So, get involved and spread some love in your community!

Find out more below:

Love Your Home

You can show some love to your home by making sure your security is up to scratch.

And if you are in Worcester or Kidderminster, why not pop into our special 'Love Your Home' shops, where staff will offer advice on property marking and the Immobilise website, where you can register your valuable items for free.

Officers will also be on hand to offer information on crime prevention and distribute giveaways.

Find us at:

  • Crowngate Shopping Centre, Worcester, Tuesday 14 February to Saturday 18 February.   Open 10am to 4pm.
  • 5 Blackwell Street, Kidderminster, Tuesday 21 February to Saturday 25 February.   Open 10am to 5pm. (Used to be Strings music shop)
  • Visit our Advice Centre for a range of top tips on how to keep the burglars and theives at bay.

  • Love Your Vehicle

Our cars are often among the most expensive purchases we make (after our houses) - which can make them a tempting target for criminals, especially if we leave other valuables on show inside.  Fortunately vehicle crime is not especially common in West Mercia, but there are plenty of ways to make it even less common.

    Love Your Neighbour

Doorstep crime can take a number of forms but is carried out by criminals who deliberately target the most vulnerable members of our communities.  However, research shows that neighbourhoods with active communities are targeted much less often by distraction burglars and rogue tradespeople.  So, keep an eye out for any vulnerable members of your community and pass on details of any suspicious vehicles or activity in the area.
