‘High-Jumping’ Thief Steals Jewellery In Kidderminster Burglary

People in Kidderminster have had their fences damaged after a ‘high-jumping' thief climbed over them in order to burgle a property in Spennells.

An address on Winchat Grove was broken into yesterday (16 August) after a ground floor window was forced open between 7.45am and 2pm.

From damage at the scene, it appears the burglar jumped over a fence into the victim's back garden from a neighbouring garden, which they had also jumped over a fence to get into.

Detective Constable David Louden from Kidderminster CID said: "Jewellery worth more than £1,000 was stolen during this burglary, along with a PlayStation 3 and a small quantity of cash.

"This happened during daylight hours and I am hoping that someone may have seen the person responsible for this break-in high-jumping over fences and can give us more details about this burglary.

"I would urge anyone who saw any suspicious people or vehicles in the area that day to call us."

Anyone with information about this incident can call Det Con Louden on 0300 333 3000, quoting 398S 160812 or contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
