Appeal After Teenager Assaulted On Bus In Herefordshire

Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenager was sexually assaulted on a bus in Herefordshire.

The incident happened on Friday 6 August between 5.50pm and 6.30pm.

A 15-year-old girl got onto the Yeomans 446 bus, from the bus stop at Maylords Orchards, Hereford.  She was travelling along the route to Willersley.

The girl lay down on a seat and tried to sleep when a male passenger reached over and inappropriately touched her.

The girl repeatedly tried to push his hand away and said no to him which he ignored.  The bus driver became aware of a disturbance and called the girl up to the front of the bus.

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "This was very distressing for experience the girl. There were a number of people on the bus at the time of the assault and we would like to appeal for these people to come forward as a matter of urgency."

Anyone with any information in relation to this is urged to contact police on 0300 333 3000, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

  • A man has been arrested and is on police bail pending further enquiries.
