Appeal Following Disorder In Ketley Bank, Telford
Police in Telford are appealing for information following a large scale disturbance in Ketley Bank in the early hours of Sunday 18 July. At just after 1.30am police received a call from a member of the public stating that a large fight was taking place on Grange Road involving a significant number of people.
Officers responded to the call immediately but arriving at the scene just a few minutes later they discovered the disorder had ended and all was quiet. However, when officers did house-to-house enquiries it became clear that at least 8 individuals had been involved in the disorder and that some of these individuals had left the scene in vehicles when they realised the police had been called.
Sergeant Dave Miller, who was on duty when this incident was reported, said: "This is an unusual incident and it goes without saying that we are keen to establish what exactly did happen between 12.30am and 2am on Sunday morning and who was involved. We have a number of leads to follow up and will be doing this over the next few days.
"The report we received stated that some of the individuals - all of whom appear to be men - involved in this disorder were carrying weapons such as iron bars, while one of the men involved was also said to have been carrying an ‘air pistol'.
"As of yet no arrests have been made in relation to this incident and therefore we are keen to hear from anyone who can confirm the identity of any of the individuals involved. We are also keen to hear from anyone who may be able to help us establish exactly why the disorder took place.
"Please call West Mercia Police on 0300 333 3000 to pass on any information you have about this incident or alternatively, please remember that Crimestoppers can also be called anonymously on 0800 555 111 if you'd prefer to pass on information without identifying yourself."
