Appeal Following Serious Collision In Wythall

Police in North Worcestershire are appealing for witnesses after a man was seriously injured during a four-car road traffic collision in Wythall at the weekend.

The collision occurred at approximately 6.05pm on Saturday 30 January outside the Packhorse pub along the Alcester Road, Wythall and involved a black Saab 900, a black Honda FR-V, a silver Ford Fiesta and a black Ford Kuga 4 x 4.

Three people were injured in the collision, including a man in his 20s who is still critically ill at Selly Oak Hospital.

PC Tom Symonds from North Worcestershire's Road Policing Unit said: "A full investigation into the circumstances surrounding this incident has been launched and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision to get in touch with us at the road policing unit as soon as possible.

"We would also be keen to hear from anyone who recalls seeing any of the vehicles in the area immediately prior to the collision.

"We understand that a bus passed the scene of the collision shortly after it occurred and we particularly want to speak to the driver and any passengers on this bus as they may be important witnesses."

PC Symonds added: "It is vital that we establish exactly what happened on Saturday and we'd urge anyone with information relating to this collision to give us a call as even the smallest detail can make a significant difference to our enquiries."

Anyone with information can call the Road Policing Unit at Rubery on 0300 333 3000 ext 3136, quoting incident 576-S-300110.
