Appeal For Witnesses Following Assault In Wellington

Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault in Wellington, Telford, which left a man with serious injuries.

Shortly after 10pm last night (August 17) police were called to the Station Hotel in Wellington, after reports that a man had been assaulted.  He had suffered serious head injuries and was taken by ambulance to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

Officers began their enquiries at the scene and a man in his 30s was arrested a short time later. He remains at Malinsgate Police Station for questioning.

Detectives are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area of the Station Hotel at around 10pm last night (August 17) who may have witnessed the assault.
