Arson At Charity Shop In Bromsgrove

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following an arson attack in Bromsgrove.

The Fire Service were called to the fire at about 1.45am on Saturday, 10 December, at the ExtraCare Charitable Trust shop in Mill Lane.

A wheelie bin was set alight at the rear of the property and soon took hold, spreading to the flat roof and rear entrance door, causing black smoke to fill the building.

PC Kerrie Mimnagh said: "The rear of the shop is accessed from Market Street behind Iceland, so we are eager to hear from anyone who saw any suspicious activity in this area early on Saturday morning.

"All proceeds from the shop go to help care for the elderly but due to the degree of damage caused the shop will need to close for repairs, which is understandably disappointing for all those who work there."

Witnesses or anyone with information are asked to contact PC Mimnagh on 0300 333 3000, quoting incident 29-N-101211, or ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
