Attempted Robbery In Brookside
Police in Telford are investigating following an attempted robbery in Brookside.
The incident occurred in the underpass on Brookside Avenue on Wednesday 17 October.
At around 12.15pm, as the victim – a 14-year-old boy – made his way through the underpass towards Brookside listening to music through his headphones, he was approached by two unknown male youths walking in the opposite direction.
One of youths suddenly asked the victim for his phone and then tripped him up. The victim responded by striking the youth but he was then punched in the face by the second youth. This punch caused a graze to the right side of the victim’s face.
A police spokesman said:
“Although he had been punched the victim managed to make a run for it and get away from the two youths. He believes they then made off in the direction of Stirchley.
“Although shaken by this incident the victim – who managed to keep hold of his phone – has given officers a description of the two youths that approached him.
“The first one is described as being white, around 5ft 9inches tall, approximately 16-years-old, skinny and as wearing an orange baseball cap with a green peak, a light grey hooded top, grey tracksuit bottoms and black and blue trainers.
“The second youth is described as being white, around 5ft 10inches tall, aged between 17 and 19 and as wearing a red scarf with black dots on it and a black hooded top with ‘Carbrini’ on it.
