Break-In At Telford Church
Police in Telford are appealing for information after vandals broke into a church in Telford.
Offenders forced their way into The New Testament Church in Holyhead Road in Ketley some time between 9am on Wednesday(25 January) and 10am on Sunday.(29 January)
Security cages were pulled down from the windows and a window was smashed.
Offenders entered the premises and further damage was caused to crockery in the kitchen.
Around £300 damage was caused in total.
The damage was discovered on Sunday morning when church goers turned up for their morning worship.
Police are investigating the matter and are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.
A Telford Police spokeswoman said: "It is unknown at this stage whether offenders were looking for items to steal or whether they were intent on causing criminal damage.
"Nevertheless, around £300 damage was caused to the church and its contents.
"Police are investigating the matter and would appeal to anyone with information to come forward.
"We are not sure exactly when the incident occurred but if you heard or saw any individuals acting suspiciously in the vicinity during the last couple of days then please call us."
