CCTV Images Released Following Stourbridge Pub Assault
Issued on behalf of West Midlands Police
West Midlands Police officers are appealing to people living in the West Mercia force area to help them identify two men they would like to speak to following an assault at a pub in Stourbridge.
The victim, aged 23 years, from the Kinver area, had been enjoying a drink with friends in the beer garden of the Bell pub, Market Street, when he was punched in the face causing him to fall to the floor. The fall resulted in the victim sustaining a fractured skull and receiving hospital treatment for his injuries.
Police are now appealing for the public's help to trace the man's attackers and have released CCTV of two men wanted in connection with the incident.
Detective Constable David Hackett from the force's Criminal Investigation Department is heading the inquiry.
"Over the past six weeks, we have actively been perusing a number of active lines of inquiry and we are now extending our appeal to people who were not at the pub but may recognise the men captured on camera," he said.
The assault happened at around 12.30am on Sunday 24 June.
Anyone who recognises the men in the CCTV images should call Det Con Hackett on 0345 113 5000.
Alternatively, people who do not want to speak with police officers directly can call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
