Claverley Hotel Burgled

Police have appealed for witnesses to help trace burglars who broke into the Crown Hotel in High Street, Claverley today.

They also want to hear from anyone offered a large quantity of spirits in litre bottles stolen from the premises.

Police Constable Mark Fletcher, the investigating officer, said: "The premises were broken into between 1am and 9.45am today by smashing a window.

"A quantity of cash was stolen together with a substantial amount of one litre spirit bottles worth around £1,000.

"The bottles are specifically for optics with their labels appearing upside down when the bottles are sat on their base.  Anyone offered spirits in suspicious circumstances should contact Bridgnorth police station on the 101 non-emergency number.

"I am also appealing for information from anyone who spotted anything suspicious in the vicinity of the Crown during the early hours of today."

Information can also be given to the anonymous Crimestoppers independent charity by calling 0800 555 111.
