Digger Stolen From Roadside In Redditch
Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a digger worth more than £8,000 was stolen from a roadside in Redditch at the weekend.
It was last seen by the owners at 3.30pm on Friday, 7 September, on the corner of Littlewoods and Evesham Road in Crabbs Cross, and was discovered missing at 8.30am on Monday, 10 September.
The yellow Volvo EC15DXT digger was chained to a dumper truck and had its battery removed.
PC Safdar Ali from Redditch said: "A witness thinks they remember seeing someone interfering with the digger at about 3.30pm on the Saturday so we think this could be when it was taken.
"The thieves must have come prepared with a large lorry to take the digger away and therefore we are hoping that people in the area on Saturday afternoon may have noticed it being taken away."
Witnesses or anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of the digger should contact PC Ali on the non-emergency number 101, quoting incident 37-N-100912, or ring the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
