Football Activities For Young People In Newport

Young people in Newport are being invited to attend two football events that are being held in and around the town tomorrow.

On Wednesday 25 August, Newport local policing teams and Telford & Wrekin Council will be holding a number of five aside football matches using the inflatable football pitch.

The sessions are aimed at five to 15 year-old boys and girls.

The first session will be held tomorrow from 10.30am to 12.30pm at Church Aston playing fields, and this will be followed quickly by a second session from 1.30pm to 3.30pm on Tibberton playing fields.

PC Dave Hancocks, Local Policing Officer for the Newport Rural, has urged as many young people as possible to come along and join in the fun.

He said: "We have held these sessions in the past and they have proven to be extremely popular.

"They are aimed at both boys and girls and are free of charge, so please come along and enjoy the fun.

"This again provides us with a great opportunity to engage with young people from our ward and hopefully the events with help further develop a healthy respect between ourselves and the younger people within the community we serve."

Those interested in taking part are advised to attend their chosen session on the day and time advertised. There is no need to book.
