Fuel Theft - CCTV Appeal

CCTV image of man police wish to speak to about fuel theft Police in Ross on Wye have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to about the theft of an amount of diesel from the BP garage on the A40, also known as Bennett's of Ross.

Around £74 of fuel was stolen during the incident, which happened just before 4.30pm on Monday, 19 December 2011, when a driver filled up their car with diesel and then drove off without paying for it.

PC Gareth King from Ross on Wye police station said: "We do not believe this is an isolated incident and it may be one of several dozen similar offences committed by the same offender over the last 10 years.

"The car involved was a dark coloured Audi A3 and was possibly on false plates which are similar to: VF52 YEL, however it is thought the vehicle is newer than the registration plate it was bearing.

"We also believe the driver has links to the Gloucestershire area and I would urge anyone who recognises the man in the CCTV image to call us."

Anyone who is able to identify the man in the CCTV image can contact PC King on 0300 333 3000, quoting 105N 201211 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
