Have You Seen War Hero’s Stolen Quad Bike?
West Mercia Police today issued a picture of a quad bike virtually identical to one stolen from the home of war hero Tom Neathway, who lost three limbs while serving in Afghanistan.
The £4,000 black and red Apache RLX 320 Super-Moto was taken from the garage of an address in the Crowle, South Worcestershire, between 1am and 6am on 25 August.
"I have had a great deal of support since the theft was discovered and one company has said that they are looking at giving me a replacement," said Tom, a former paratrooper/sniper, who now works as a parachute instructor.
Detective Inspector Jim Fox, of South Worcestershire CID, said: "With the amount of publicity that there has already been over the theft, someone out there - in addition to the callous thief - knows that it has been taken from a seriously injured war hero. We hope that this will encourage someone to provide the necessary information for us to recover the bike and bring the thief, or thieves, to justice."
Police want to hear from anyone who saw, or heard, anything suspicious in the Crowle area between the given times or who has noticed a black and red quad bike suddenly appear somewhere, perhaps under unusual circumstances.
Officer can be contacted on 0300 333 3000, quoting 110S/250810. Information can also be given - anonymously - to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
