High Value Bike Stolen In Shrewsbury Van Break

A £6,000 team bike was stolen by thieves who raided a van parked overnight in Drinkwater Street, Shrewsbury.

Police are hoping the thieves will have been spotted as the white VW Transporter van with the words "Leisure Bikes" on the bodywork, was parked under a street light.

They are also hoping the bike will be traced if the thieves try to sell it on.  A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: "It is a very distinctive bike, a turquoise Yeti SB66 make of which there are very few in existence.

"We are appealing for information from anyone who spotted suspicious activity in Drinkwater Street overnight or if they have any knowledge of the bike's whereabouts."

The van was broken into between 8pm last night and 8am today.  A window was smashed and two door locks were drilled out, resulting in around £500 damage.  A Go Pro digital camera worth £120 was also stolen.
