Inquest Opened On Motorcyclist From Shifnal Road Collision

The motorcyclist who died in a road collision near Shifnal at the weekend, has been named as Vincent Jonecko, aged 55, of Osprey Close, Whittington, Lichfield, Staffordshire.

Mr Jonecko was involved in a collision with a Land Rover Discovery towing a caravan at the junction of the A5 and A41 at Burlington shortly after 10am on Saturday.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.

An inquest was opened by the Shropshire coroner Mr John Ellery this morning for evidence of identification and adjourned to a date to be fixed later in the year.

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the collision and have renewed their appeal for witnesses to contact Shrewsbury police station on 0300 333 3000.
