Jaw Broken In Street Assault At Kidderminster
Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a man had his jaw broken when he was attacked in Kidderminster.
The victim, a man in his 20s, was assaulted on Bewdley Hill between 12.30am and 2am last Thursday morning (11 October) while walking home from a friend's house.
He sustained serious facial injuries including a broken jaw. Following the attack he made his way back home and was taken by his partner to the Worcestershire Royal Hospital where he had an operation to have a metal plate inserted into his jaw.
Detective Constable Jon Cooper of Kidderminster CID said: "The victim suffered some very nasty injuries and cannot really remember much about what happened. Although we understand this attack took place near the Tesco Express on Bewdley Hill we cannot be specific about the number of offenders or descriptions. The man's iPhone 4, a wallet containing about £20 and his driving licence are all missing and may have been taken from him.
"We are urging people to come forward if they live nearby or were driving past between the relevant times and saw or heard something of this incident. Somebody will know who was responsible and we need them to tell us."
Anyone with information should call Det Con Cooper at Kidderminster Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting the incident reference 53-S-111012, or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
