Jewellery Snatch In Rubery Alley

Police want help to trace two men involved in the theft of a gold necklace snatched from a teenage girl in a Rubery alleyway.

The girl was with two friends in an alley that links Gannow Road and Lyndon Road when it happened at about 3.30pm on Thursday, July 15.

They were approached by a man who asked for directions and then as he went to walk off snatched a £100 gold necklace from the girl from behind. He then ran up the alley towards Lyndon Road with another man he had called to join him just moments before.

The offenders were both white and in their mid to late 20s. One was stocky, around 5ft 9ins in height and with very short, fair hair. He was wearing a white combat-style jacket and light blue jeans. The other man had short, dark hair and was wearing a khaki jacket.

Detective Constable Steve Pritchett said: "There were a large number of people in the area when it happened as it was picking-up time at Waseley Hills High School which is nearby. I would urge anyone who saw these men either hanging around in the area before the theft, or making off from the scene afterwards, to call us as soon as possible."

Witnesses or anyone with information should call DC Pritchett at Bromsgrove CID on 0300 333 3000, quoting incident reference 485-S-150710, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
