Jewellery Stolen In Albrighton Burglary

Police today issued an appeal to help trace burglars who broke into a home at Albrighton, near Shifnal.

Five gold rings in a beige square-shaped jewellery box were stolen from a bedroom at the home in Bishton Road.

They included a mourning ring set with a black jet stone and the inscription "in memory of" and an engagement ring with three diamond hearts at an angle on top.

A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: "The rings have considerable sentimental value to the owner and we are appealing for any information which might help us return them and to trace the offenders.

"We are urging anyone who saw anything suspicious in the Bishton Road area to contact Shifnal police station on the 101 non-emergency number."

The break-in happened between 1pm yesterday and 7am today.  Damage to doors and windows amounted to about £800.

Information can also be given to the anonymous Crimestoppers independent charity by calling 0800 555 111.
