Jogger Robbed In Redditch
Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a 16-year-old youth was robbed as he was out jogging in Redditch.
It happened at about 8.45pm on Thursday, 26 January, in Hewell Road.
The victim was running along Hewell Road in the direction of the town centre and as he ran underneath the railway bridge he became aware of three males running behind him. As he approached the grass area on the corner of Clive Road he was grabbed by one of the males who took his headphones which were connected to his iPhone.
The male then threatened him, told him to hand over his iPhone and then told him to walk away. The offenders then ran off back down Hewell Road.
The iPhone is the white, 16GB 4S version worth about £500 and the headphones are Dr Dre Beat headphones in black and red, with a red ‘b' on each headphone, worth about £150.
The offenders are described as white, about 17 or 18 years old and were all wearing hooded tops; two of the tops were grey and the other was black. Two of the offenders were wearing jeans.
Detective Constable Amjad Iqbal said: "We are appealing to anyone who saw the incident or thinks they know who the offenders are to call police with any information they may have.
"We would also like to hear from anyone who may have been offered a white iPhone 4S or a set of these distinctive headphones for sale."
Anyone with information should call DC Iqbal on 0300 333 3000, quoting incident 658-S-260112, or ring the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
