Kidderminster Newsagents Robbery - Witness Appeal

Police in Kidderminster are appealing for witnesses to a robbery which happened at the Stars News Shop on Stourport Road just before 10pm last night (Wednesday, 4 January).

Three men entered the shop and verbally threatened members of staff, forcing them to open the store's safe in order to steal its contents, before leaving on foot.

Staff were not hurt in the incident, but a large quantity of cash was stolen.

The three men are all described as being Asian, in their 20s, wearing hooded jackets with tights masking their faces. Witnesses describe the men as having Birmingham accents.

Detective Constable Jon Cooper said: "Fortunately, no one was injured during the robbery, but the members of staff were locked in a room and have been left very upset by the incident.

"I would appeal for anyone who was in the Stourport Road area at the time of the offence and saw any vehicles or people fitting the description of the suspects, to contact us as soon as possible."

Anyone with information about this incident can contact DC Cooper on 0300 333 3000, quoting 563S 040112 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
