Knife Robbery At Bewdley Newsagents

A robber walked out of a Bewdley newsagents with cash from the till after threatening a member of staff with a knife.

Police are now appealing for witnesses and information after the incident at the Riar Newsagents in The Lakes Road, which happened at about 5.45pm on Friday, 27 January.

A man entered the store and walked up to a woman working at the till, produced a knife and demanded money from the till. The assistant gave him some money and then he helped himself to more from the till before leaving with about £100 in takings.

No-one was hurt during the incident.

The robber is white, slim, 19 or 20 years old, between 5ft and 5ft 5ins tall and was wearing a black jacket and dark blue jeans.

Detective Constable Amy Kitosi-Isanga said today: "Obviously the member of staff involved was extremely shocked after the ordeal.

"We are appealing to anyone who thinks they saw this man at or near the store around the relevant time on Friday to contact us, and if anyone has information about who is responsible, then please get in touch with us as soon as possible."
