Ludlow Pubwatch Scheme Bans Seven Troublemakers
Ludlow Pubwatch scheme has banned seven troublemakers for up to two years from member premises.
The bans - two years for three people and one year for the others - were approved following reports of bad behaviour, assaults and damage to property.
A recent Pubwatch meeting heard about incidents of assault on a door staff steward and criminal damage to a pub. In another case, a man had acted in an intimidating manner towards customers of a town centre pub and despite being ejected, continued to act in the same manner.
Mr Tony Mantle, the Police Licensing Officer for Shropshire, said he fully supported the action taken.
"The whole point of the Pubwatch scheme, both locally and nationally, is to exclude troublesome people from enjoying their local pubs. It's a case of behave or be banned."
He added: "South Shropshire is one of the safest places in the country to live in and we don't want that reputation spoiled."
