Man Arrested After Car Stolen In Burglary At Kidderminster
Police have arrested a man and recovered a BMW car after it was taken during a burglary in Kidderminster this week.
Now detectives are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the brown BMW X1 being driven erratically on the A449 on Tuesday afternoon (29 November) after it was reported stolen.
The car was taken from Manor Avenue South overnight between Monday (28 November) and Tuesday (29 November) after a house was entered while the occupants were asleep and the keys to the vehicle stolen along with a handbag.
At around lunchtime on Tuesday it was spotted on the A449 at Summerhill and police officers later found it in Clent. A man was arrested nearby on suspicion of stealing the car and taken to Kidderminster Police Station for questioning. He was released on police bail until 31 January, 2012, pending further inquiries.
Detective Sergeant Marc Sanders of Kidderminster CID said: "We are interested in hearing from anyone who may have seen this BMW being driven erratically on the A449 or elsewhere in Worcestershire on Tuesday afternoon. Other motorists may remember having had to take evasive action to avoid it and if so we would very much like to hear from them."
Witnesses or anyone with information should call DS Sanders at Kidderminster on 0300 333 3000, quoting incident reference 46-N-291111, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 080 555 111.
