Man Arrested After Drugs Seized In Bromsgrove

West Mercia Police officers have arrested a man after seizing cannabis plants found at a property in Birmingham Road, Bromsgrove, early yesterday morning (2 September).

Officers on patrol entered the premises after they became aware of a strong smell of cannabis coming from the property. They found more than 400 plants in the upstairs bedrooms along with equipment used for cultivation.

As officers arrived a man ran from the back of the property and jumped over the garden fence. He was last seen running in the direction of Catkin Close and Oak Apple Road.

Another man has been arrested on suspicion of producing a controlled drug - cannabis, and has been released on police bail until 11 November, pending further inquiries.

PC Dave Alsop, from Bromsgrove Police Station said: "We are eager to hear from anyone who may have seen the man running from the property early on Sunday morning and would also like to hear from anyone who may have noticed suspicious activity at the property including any vehicles parked outside."

Anyone with information should contact PC Alsop on the non-emergency number 101, or call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
