Man Arrested In Ross-On-Wye

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following an incident at a house in Quarry Close, Ross-on-Wye.

Police were called to the property just before 8am this morning (Friday, 3 February) following a call from the West Midlands Ambulance Service.

When officers arrived, they found a woman with serious head injuries and arrested a man at the scene.

Detective Chief Inspector Martyn Barnes said: "This is a major investigation and the scene has been cordoned off while officers continue their enquiries.

"The woman has significant injuries, however they are not believed to be life threatening and she is currently undergoing treatment at Hereford County Hospital.

"At this time, we believe it to be a domestic-related incident and no-one else is being sought in connection with the matter."

Update on Monday 06 February:

The arrested man was charged with attempted murder on Friday night and appeared at Hereford Magistrates Court on Saturday morning.

After appearing at court the man was remanded in custody.
