Man Assaulted After Window Smashed In Kidderminster

Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a man was assaulted when he chased after two men he believed had just smashed the window of a house in Kidderminster.

The incident happened in Park Street at about 10.45pm on Friday, December 16. After the window was broken a man in his 30s who was a visitor to the address came out of the property and chased after two men.

He followed them to flats in Park Court, just off Park Street, where he was attacked and suffered significant head and facial injuries. He was taken by ambulance to the Worcestershire Royal Hospital.

Two men in their 20s were arrested in the area shortly afterwards on suspicion of assault. After questioning they were released on police bail until 30 January pending further inquiries.

Detective Constable Shelley Aplin of Kidderminster CID said: "We urgently need to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard anything of this incident. We have carried out some house-to-house inquiries in the area and are particularly interested in speaking to anyone at the Park Court flats who may have witnessed the assault or seen those responsible. It is important anyone who knows anything at all about this comes forward and talks to us as soon as possible."

Anyone with information should contact DC Aplin on 0300 333 3000, quoting incident reference 632-S-161211, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
