Man Charged With Kidnap And Sexual Assault, Worcester

A man has been charged with three offences in relation to two assaults on women that occurred in Worcester in recent weeks.

At around 5.30am on Tuesday, 24 April, a woman was grabbed by a man while waiting at a bus stop on Barbourne Road. He pulled her backwards a short distance towards Gheluvelt Park before letting her go and running off.

Then, at approximately 4.25am on Sunday 6 May, a woman walking along Sansome Walk was approached by a man and subjected to a serious sexual assault close to Worcester Baptist church.

A man in his 20s was arrested yesterday in Worcester and questioned at Castle Street Police Station. He was charged this afternoon with sexual assault and two counts of kidnap with intent to commit a sexual offence.

He has been remanded into police custody until he appears at Worcester Magistrates' Court tomorrow morning.
