Man Charged With Possessing 25,000 Indecent Images
A man from Shirley, Solihull, has been charged by West Mercia Police in connection with the possession of thousands of indecent images of children and other extreme pornographic material.
The man, who was charged today (Monday, 13 August) by detectives from the force's Bromsgrove-based Child Protection Unit, faces four counts of possessing indecent photographs of children and another of possessing extreme pornographic material. The earliest of the offences is alleged to have taken place in September 2009 and the latest in November last year (2011).
The charges relate to a total of 25,101 images found on a computer.
The man who has been charged, who is in his 40s, has been released on bail to appear at Redditch Magistrates Court on 4 September, 2012.
