Man Charged With Robbery At Telford Bookmakers

Police have confirmed that a 46-year-old man has been charged with a robbery that occurred at a bookmakers in Telford at the beginning of the month.

The incident occurred at the Corals betting shop on The Parade in Donnington at around 8.30am on Monday 2 July.

As a result of the robbery the offender escaped with several hundred pounds in cash.

A police spokesman said:

"We can confirm that a 46-year-old has been charged with robbery and will be appearing at Telford Magistrates Court this morning.

"In addition, the man has also been charged with attempted robbery and possession of an offensive weapon."

No further information can be released about this incident at this time.
