Man Found In Worcester Alley Dies

A man who was found unconscious in an alleyway in Worcester last week has died in hospital.

The man, who was in his 30s and from the Stourport area, was discovered seriously ill at the rear of the Salvation Army building on The Trinity in Worcester at 1.30pm on 25 January.

He remained in hospital in a critical condition until he died on Wednesday evening (1 February) and a post mortem was conducted yesterday.

Detective Chief Inspector Gary Watson said, "Unfortunately the post mortem has not provided an early answer to how this man died and we await the results of further tests, which could take a number of weeks.

"We remain open minded about what we are treating as an unexplained death.

"We continue to make inquiries about the incident and if anyone saw anything out of the ordinary in the area of the Trinity last Wednesday lunchtime we would like to hear from them."

Anyone with information can contact Worcester CID via the non-emergency police number 101 or information can be passed on anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
