Market Drayton House Burglary Appeal
Police are appealing for witnesses after burglars broke into a Market Drayton home while the occupants were asleep.
They gained entry through a door at the house in Elm Drive between 11pm last night and 6am today making a search of downstairs rooms.
A handbag containing a purse, an inhaler and cosmetics was stolen from the kitchen and a play station 3 together with a game were taken from the living room.
Police Constable Clare Stretton, the investigating officer, has appealed for witnesses or information about the offenders.
"I urge anyone who might have seen someone acting suspiciously in the area overnight, or who knows who are the culprits are, to contact Market Drayton police station on the 101 non-emergency number."
She said there had been several other incidents at neighbouring properties recently, including a car's sunroof being tampered with and ladders being stolen off a van.
"Residents in the area need to be aware of what's happening and to remain security conscious."
Information can also be given to the anonymous Crimestoppers independent charity by calling 0800 555 111.
