Money Stolen From Charity Box In Malvern Café Burglary
Police in Malvern are appealing for information after a burglary at a town centre café, in which money from a charity collection box was stolen.
Bluebird Tea Rooms on Church Street was broken into between 6.30pm on Friday, 29 June and 9am on Saturday, 30 June.
Cash from a cardboard box collecting for the cancer charity Marie Curie was stolen in the burglary after the café was entered via a rear window. Money from the tea room's float was also taken.
PC Frances Thorpe from Malvern police station said: "Thieves who resort to stealing from charity boxes need to be identified and brought to justice.
"There is a parking area at the back of the café which is used by staff from nearby shops. It is overlooked by a number of properties and is also close to other parking areas.
"I would urge anyone who may have been in that area and saw or heard any suspicious activity at the back of the tea rooms on Friday night into the early hours of Saturday morning, to contact us."
Anyone with information about this incident can call PC Thorpe on 0300 333 3000, quoting 28N 300612 or contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
