New Community Support Officer Joins Ludlow Town

CSO Jamie GuestA former student at Ludlow College has returned to the town to work as a Police Community Support Officer.

Jamie Guest, aged 21, has joined the Ludlow Town Local Policing team, working with PCs                 Sara Perry and Dan Wood and CSOs Lisa Thomas and David Bell.

Jamie, who lives at Cleobury Mortimer, said: "I am very pleased to become part of Ludlow's Local Policing team and I'm looking forward to meeting and working with many people within the town.

"Joining the police service was always something I was interested in doing, looking for a new challenge where no one day is the same and getting to work with lots of different people.

"I would encourage people to come and say hello when they see me out and about."

As a student t Ludlow College, Jamie studied A-levels in PE, biology and psychology and also completed a number of sports  coaching awards.

He is a keen sportsman, specialising in volleyball both as a player and coach.  Mountain biking is another pursuit and he is a regular visitor to the downhill tracks at Bringewood woods, just outside Ludlow.

His working background is mainly in customer service roles.  "I first worked for local pub chain Nostalgia Inns while at college and then moved on to retail group Next for two years.  I have also been known to get stuck in to help; out with the family farming business."

Jamie added: "I thoroughly enjoyed all the roles and believe my job as CSO will be just as rewarding and enjoyable.  I am looking forward to interacting with the public and working with local people, solving problems and making a difference to the Ludlow Town area."
