PACT Takes Action Over Dogs Fouling Paths
Dog owners who let their animals foul pavements in Matchborough, Redditch, are to be targeted by the borough council's Environmental Health enforcement officer following complaints at a PACT (Partners and Communities Together) meeting there.
Matchborough Councillor Juliet Brunner said that new dog waste bins were also on order to encourage owners to clear up after their pets.
After the issue was raised at a recent PACT meeting she was joined by neighbours in a clean-up of the pavements near her home in order to highlight the problem.
Matchborough's next PACT meeting will be a "street meet" in Dilwyn Close, near the community centre, at 7pm on Wednesday, August 18, when residents will be invited to raise any local concerns they would like to see addressed.
Local Policing Officer PC Paul Downes said: "We are using this format for the first time in Matchborough. We are listening to what the community is telling us and looking at different methods to reinvigorate the process and in effect take PACT to the people."
