Plea After Burglaries At Stourport Coffee Shop And Restaurant

Police are appealing for witnesses and information after burglaries at a coffee shop and an Indian restaurant in Stourport, which may be linked.

A quantity of cash was stolen from the Severn Tandoori restaurant in Bridge Street between 12.15am and 5.30pm yesterday (Thursday, May 3) when the burglary was discovered. A tidy search had been made of the premises although damage was caused during the break-in.

Between 5.45pm on Wednesday (May 2) and 7.30am yesterday there was another break-in at The Courtyard Coffee Shop in Lombard Street. Again there was some damage caused on entry and a tidy search made but this time nothing was stolen.

Officers are investigating whether the burglaries are linked and want to hear from anyone who may know or suspect who is responsible or if they heard or saw any unusual activity at either of the premises.

Anyone with information should call officers at Kidderminster Police Station on 101, quoting incident reference 72-S-030512, or contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
